About Billy
In 1959, on the street corners of South Philadelphia, three young men spent every evening singing in perfect harmony. These three young boys, Gary Young, Chuck Hatfield, and Billy Daniels went on to form a singing group known as "The Ly-Dells". The Ly-Dells released 14 songs over the next 4 years: "Don't Be A Litterbug", "Let This Night Last", "Three Little Monkeys", and the most recognized "Wizard of Love".
"Wizard of Love" soared to number one on the charts in just 5 months and sold over 1 million copies.
Although the Ly-Dells have drifted apart, Billy continues to sing and has traveled all over the USA performing at fairs, assemblies, churches, etc. Music is one of the most important parts of his life, other than his family.
Billy is working on new CDs that will be featuring Country and Gospel songs.

Billy Daniels and Nick "Buttacoochie" Buttacavoli have been best friends since school. Nick worked as a security guard for "The Lydells" from 1961-1965 and is now security guard for radio station WVLT 92.1 FM and lives in Essington, PA.

The Billy Daniels I've come to know through our communications for his website is a very caring man with many facets to his personality. To learn those facets of Billy will take time...it's not something you can learn in a short acquaintance with this man. I know that he's no different than you and I. He can laugh at himself and he can feel hurt too. Honesty is important to Billy and if you can't be honest with yourself you will never be honest with others.
From his childhood to present...life has made the man that Billy is today. His experience in the music/entertainment field gave him things he might never had otherwise but it also came at a cost to him at times. I know that trust plays a very important part in his life and it's not easy to come by with him either. He has strong beliefs on various things.
The many facets of Billy's personality I may never really get to know but the ones I do know is why I can call him a friend and why I put my time and effort into his website.
